Intentional Attention: the Antidote to World War

Reader

Here is another key aspect to help you to master your mind and use its power to help yourself and the world!

Intentional attention is a powerful tool that we all have but many fail to use. When we focus our attention, what we are looking at magnifies or becomes more obvious.

Intentional attention

When you are shining a torch to see your way in the dark. You are spotlighting your path so that you can see it more clearly and make your way forward.

Think of an avid gardener, like me. With focused attention, giving plants the conditions and nurturing that they need, they grow and produce beautiful flowers and edibles.

💡 Our intentional attention is a powerful tool. But how much of our attention really is intentional?

There are so many things competing for our attention today. We can easily become distracted or overwhelmed and lose our focus. With bad news available 24/7 that easily triggers our fear response, we can get overloaded with negativity and worry incessantly or zone out to protect ourselves.

You may be focusing closely on the war in Ukraine at this time. It is hard to ignore the suffering of families in Ukraine and we want to help, but we may feel that there is little that we can do.

💡 We need to consider how our focus on the war can impact our own mindset - creating sadness, fear, and anger, which are all low vibrations.

We are all connected through our higher consciousness - this is why we feel the emotions that the Ukrainians are experiencing.

By hating Putin for what he is doing we may be inadvertently fueling his perception that Russia has to defend itself against its Western neighbours and the threat from NATO.

But by raising our vibrations to focus on peace, hope, and love, we could have a positive impact on what is happening in Ukraine.

We also have the issue of energy price rises causing concern for those of us on average or lower incomes. This can trigger the “scarcity mindset” and a negative spiral of worry and feelings of powerlessness. It is easy to become afraid and fixated on potential threats to our security and way of life.

💡 Remember that like attracts like, and what we focus on grows. If we focus on scarcity, we will get more of it. This is how the primitive mind works. It draws our attention to evidence that fits with the beliefs that we already hold.

By “proving you right” the subconscious mind thinks it is keeping you safe but it is really keeping you stuck. It is stopping you from viewing the bigger picture and having a clear focus on the wider reality.

There are two types of mindset, a scarcity or limited mindset, and an abundance or growth mindset. The scarcity mindset is more about focusing on what we don’t have and our limits. While an abundance mindset is about creating opportunities and believing that there are enough resources for everyone to benefit.

There is limitless sustainable, carbon-free energy available from wind, wave, and solar power. It just takes the intentional attention of scientists, with support from governments, to improve these technologies to be more cost-efficient. The “climate crisis” has finally been acknowledged by world leaders and now the race to break free from dependence on Russian oil and gas is accelerating the speed of research into renewable green energies.

💡 It is important to be clear about our priorities so that we can work out

  • What is worthy of expending our increasingly limited attention spans on
  • What is helpful and healthy to focus on

When you are able to see the bigger picture, there is always something good that comes from every negative situation. Adopting a growth mindset and looking for the positives helps us to develop the resilience and strength to cope with adversity.

Paying intentional attention to the opportunities and possibilities of any experience, rather than getting stuck in the fear-inducing spiral of focusing on the threatening aspects, can keep us grounded and able to think clearly. The problem-solving neocortex, our high brain function, goes off-line - we ‘flip our lid’ - when the emotional, fear-based brain gets activated.

Our rationality and creativity are stifled when we are controlled by our emotional brain. This is what happens with people who suffer from panic attacks and those who have phobias. The primitive emotional brain, whose job is to keep us safe, is stuck in a loop repeatedly reacting to something that happened in childhood. It is no longer relevant to our lives today, but that part of the brain has no concept of time.

Rapid Transformational Therapy can quickly and easily tap into that part of the brain and release those memories from their time warp. Once released and healed, your mind is free to function perfectly and you can access your strengths and untapped powers.

💡 Focus first on dealing with your subconscious issues, releasing the root cause of your negativity, then you will be able to tap into your positive power, develop an abundance mindset, and raise your vibrations to help change the world!

Dr. Emoto’s prayer experiments demonstrate the positive power of intentional attention on water crystals. See their structure change in this video from the Water Peace Project.

We are 99% water and our higher consciousnesses are all connected.

Warm wishes

Hello Reader, Here's another instalment in my mindset series. No matter what kind of challenges we are facing, the mindset we assume to overcome them will greatly determine if we do overcome the challenge. Our mindset will influence how we approach the subject and how much we enjoy the time we have while we are overcoming the challenge. As Dr. Wayne Dyer used to say, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” The key question is… 💡 How will you choose to look...
